Töölönlahden Puisto
Safer environment with Planet LED Puck
As part of the City of Helsinki’s renovation of Töölönlahti Park, a new lighting scheme was introduced for the park’s reopening in July 2024. The aim was to deliver functional, flexible illumination while enhancing the park’s character and visitor experience.
The park needed lighting that could support multiple uses; paths, gathering spots, play and relaxation zones, without cluttering the landscape with a dense forest of poles. The solution also had to withstand Finland’s demanding seasonal conditions and deter vandalism.
A total of 145 LED Puck Air wire-mounted luminaires were installed, using two optical configurations to match different areas and activities. The cable luminaire system provided a space-efficient approach, enabling versatile coverage across the park while reducing the need for numerous columns.
The compact, wire-suspended luminaires are engineered to handle wind and snow loads. A Kevlar-reinforced double cable helps maintain tension and stability, and the system is designed for longevity with IP10.
