Over 250 Uled Examination Lights supplied

Planet Lighting became involved with the Cairns Base Hospital project due to our partnership with a similar Australian owned manufacturing business called Medical Design Innovation (MDI). The client was wanting to standardise the examination fittings throughout the facility, so together MDI and Planet Lighting designed a mounting bracket to attach to the MDI medical pendants throughout the facility. This allowed all the examination fittings to remain the same throughout the facility, which of course is a more user friendly and much better maintenance solution long term.

A critical factor in the selection process was the “tool-less” removable light head and 5 year warranty period. Cairns Base Hospital being located in Far North Queensland relies on local contractors for repairs and maintenance. Having a light that allows the local staff to attend to easily or even remove a light head from another room if urgently required (No electrician required) is a real bonus for the up time of the facility.

Planet Lighting was also involved in consultation with the engineers in regards to the structural mounting of the Uleds withstand cyclonic conditions.
