Iconic Eleanor Schonell Bridge is a well-known Brisbane landmark, connecting the St Lucia University of Queensland campus with Dutton Park. The cable-stayed bridge was built in 2006 and was the first bridge in Australia for the exclusive use by public transport; pedestrian, bicycles and buses. It sits 20 metres above the river Brisbane and is 390m long.
Planet Lighting worked with Brisbane City Council to provide a vandal resistant, cost-effective LED lighting solution achieving an average of 20 lux (exceeding P3 lighting standard) replacing previously installed in-ground metal halide up-lighters.
Planet provided 167 off 3000mm stainless steel pipe modules, each fitted with 2 powerful 5000K 1.6W HLS stainless steel minipuck (see HLS LED Handrail) complete with in-tube drivers and powersupplies, and brackets to attach to existing structure.
